Vedic Reflections - Shri VishnusahasranAmam (Stanza 21)
The 21st stanza of Vishnu sahasranAmam emphasizes on Mahavishnu's navel. The beauty and holiness of His navel, from where Lord Brahma is born after every pralayA or apocalypse. Thus, being the center of creation, the cause of creation.

marIchirdamano hamsah suparno bhujagottamah
hiranyanAbhah sutapAh padmanAbhah prajApatih

मरिचिर्दामनो हंसः सुपर्णो भुजगोत्तमः |
हिरान्यनाभः सुतपा: पद्मनाभः प्रजापतिः  ||    

marIchi
The One who is the brightest among the bright
damanah
The One who has the authority to punish the sinners and reward the do-gooders

hamsah 
The One who destroys the fear of samsAra, that is the cycle of life and death. Or it can also relate to the beauty of Lord like that of a swan (hamsah)

suparnah 
The One who has beautiful pair of wings

bhujagottamah
The One who is the master of the serpents, AdisheshA 

hiranyanAbhah 
The One who has a golden navel

sutapAh 
The One performs tapas or penance for the good reasons

padmanAbhah 
The One whose navel is the shape of a lotus petal

prajApatih
The One who is the pati or pitah of all creatures
