Aakrosh - Movie Review

A movie about honour killings that have swept the sands of Northern India is what is seemingly the USP of this action packed CBI melodrama. Having watched this movie in an almost empty SRS Cinema hall in Gurgaon, I felt more like at home. Priyadarsan takes a different route this time and decides to put up a Action Investigation film on the lines of Malayalam Sethurama Iyer CBI movies, although, the plot is more fresh and not really a remake of any particular malayalam film, like he used to do previously. The film has been set in a village JHANJHAR in North India, where three young men have vanished and apparently suspected to be killed by their classmates in some medical college in New Delhi. Thus, sets Akshaye Khanna, a very dutiful, thanda & gassy CBI officer en route to Jhaanjhar to track the wrong doers. Funnily, Jhaanjhar is a real village in Haryana, but the villagers speak in Bhojpurish Hindi which is nothing like the aggressive tone that's used in Haryanvi Hindi and t

Aakrosh (Theatrical)

Aakrosh / आक्रोश Filmed by - Priyadarsan Produced by - Kumar Mangat Pathak Starring - Ajay Devgun, Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal, Bipasha Basu, Reema Sen, Amita Pathak Music - Pritam Lyrics - Irshad Kamil DOP - Thiru Genre - Action/Thriller/Drama My Expectations' Rating - 7.9/10 Reflections Well, the genre is clear- Pure action and some are over the top, just like in T amil flicks. Priyadarsan returns to the action genre after almost a decade and half.We last saw him making Gardish which starred Jackie Shroff. The funny thing is that despite making an action flick, the Priyan film doesn't star Akshay Kumar which is quite surprising for he had featured in almost all the recent slapstick idiotic comedies of Priyadarsan and when finally he has made this Action film....LO! There's no Akshay Kumar...instead there is his second favourite Akshaye Khanna. Ajay Devgun has sizzled once again...the female lead played by Bipasha..Reema and the producer's daughter- Ami

Sajde (Khatta Meetha OST - Audio, Lyrics & English Translation)

सजदे  Film/Album: Khatta Meetha Singer(s): K K, Sunidhi Chauhan Music Director: Pritam Lyricist: Irshad kamil My Rating - 7.8/10 Reflections I can't understand what happens to Pritam when he's composing songs for Priyadarsan's movies!!! De Dana Dan carried pretty under average to pathetic tracks too. This one has just two notable tracks- One is SAJDA and the other is BULLSHIT! Sajde is a soft one, not as good as Pee Loon or I am in Love from Pritam's other soundtrack of the season - ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI..... The Video is pretty soothing, with most of the song being filmed at some temple in Tamil Nadu (a wild guess...but could be anywhere in Southern India except Kerala, since the architecture of the temple shows). Trisha Krishnan looks ravishing for her age and Akshay looks simple yet over-typed.... Lyrics (Translation) Sajde kiye hai lakhon, lakhon duayein maangi, paya hai maine phir tujhe Chahat ki teri maine, haqq mein hawayein maangi, paya h

Finally....a team in IPL that I can call....my HOMETEAM

For the past 3 years...I have been cheering for Bangalore and Chennai in the Indian Premier League coz these two teams were something that were close to the place that I call home...KOCHI....But with the announcement of the two new teams that was done earlier today.....things have certainly changed....for the better..... Mr. Lalit Modi who was announcing the two new teams...revealed the first team as PUNE...that was bought by SAHARA group...I was quite tainted after that first revelation...coz.... Ahmedabad and Pune were the top two in the bidding pipeline....with huge names from Bollywood backing 'em up...(even the opinion poll on my blog too say the same....)....and once Pune was out of the box...I knew it had to be Ahmedabad.....especially with Narendre Modi backing up....but somehow...deep in my heart....something said.... keep watching....you are gonna shout off the roof of your house...after the second revelation ..... And I did....the moment...Modi uttered RENDEVOUS grou

IPL 2011 - two new teams? Decision on March 21

Am I excited or what? Two new franchises for next year's edition of IPL......wow....and the race is on...running hard are   Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Vizag, Rajkot, Cuttack, Baroda, Kochi, Indore and Gwalior.....While Ahmedabad and Pune seem to be front runners...with strong backing up....  Ahmedabad seems to be a sure winner....since it is being sought after by Adani group and strongly backed by NARENDRA MODI...making it a part of some Golden Gujarat campaign....and besides we did see how much of support an event like ICL got in Ahmedabad two years ago....now this is IPL......am looking forward to see Ahmedabad in action..in the next IPL.... Close behind are Videocon....eying Pune.....along with Abhishek Bachchan........... I really wished that Priyadarsan and Mohanlal along with the Muthoot group bought the Kochi franchise...but seems like they have deterred themselves from doing so...due to the new clauses set by the IPL governing council...which says :
