The Month of That Frequent Visitor

Chetan Bhagat has already taken over October and November. Ravinder Singh, Preeti Shenoy & Sudeep Nagarkar will be churning out their new titles in the month of December. It would be interesting to see if readers bless That Frequent Visitor with an open heart. Can Paranormal Fiction survive the in reign of Chiclit/Romance or topple it altogether? Only time will tell. At this moment all I can say is that the word is out, K.Hari Kumar will be competing with the biggest and most popular authors in December for a prominent place in the heart of readers across India and the world beyond. That Frequent Visitor is published by one of India's biggest publishers - Srishti Publishers & Distributors. I'd request my friends, readers and well wishers to buy a copy of That Frequent Visitor (rather than asking for free copies) if you wish to read a complete story that is different from whatever you have read till date. What was once a spark in my mind, went on to bec

The Haunting in Lulia Hasdeu Castle (Romania) - That Frequent Visitor's Most Haunted Places on Earth # 2

The  Iulia Hasdeu Castle  is a folly house built in the form of small castle by historian and politician  Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu  in the city of Câmpina, Prahova County, Romania. The only descendant of Hasdeu family was Iulia, a prodigy child, born on 14th November 1869 and dead eighteen years later, on 17th September 1888 from an unmerciful tuberculosis. At the age of 11 she graduated at "St. Sava" Gymnasium and the Music Academy of Bucharest (piano and canto). As a pupil of the "Sévigné" College of Paris, where she continued her secondary school studies, Iulia aroused her teacher's admiration for her brilliant intelligence. She took private lessons in drawing, painting, piano playing and canto. She continuously wrote poems, prose and theater plays. At 16, she attended the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy at "La Sorbonne" in Paris. Meanwhile, Iulia attended courses at the School of Higher Studies in Paris. Her literary creation was to appear po

The Tea Seller's Son (A touching story)

The Tea Seller's Son by K Hari Kumar (An Excerpt from WHEN STRANGERS MEET.. ) On a very hazily lit noon, when one could see enough to distinguish darkness from light, the little boy turned his head first to his left and then to the other side. Then he checked straight, as if in a single stride he would measure the entire length that he was meaning to cross to get to the other side of the road. His destination was a dusty container office across the road that took care of the construction site booming in that part of the village. His father had told him ‘Arshad, when you grow up this place will make you rich and we will open a bigger tea stall outside the mall so that more people can drink our tea.’ ‘What is a mall, Abbu?’ he had asked innocently. ‘It is a big shop that has everything in the world. You will like it.’ His father had told him. ‘Why can’t we open a shop inside the mall?’ ‘We will do that too, we will do that. But you must serve very good tea to thos

The Lady in Winter

I took this photograph on a foggy winter morning in Sec 57, Gurgaon in 2009. The image stayed with me like an engraved memory and later on became the inspiration for the character of Little Arshad in my debut novel  When Strangers Meet .. This is the exact same location where he has been described to walk in the third chapter of my book, When Strangers meet.. Although the book describes the location as somewhere in Ghittorni, however, it's a secret between you and me... the actual place is Gurgaon  2009 ©  K.Hari Kumar  Photography READ, REVIEW and WIN $250!
