Kaatrai Konjam (Neethaane En Ponvasantham)

Kaatrai Konjam  OST : Neethane En Ponvasantham (You are my Golden spring) Singer : Karthik Music by Ilaiyaraaja Lyrics : Na. Muthukumar Directed : Gautham Vasudev Menon Starring : Jiiva,Samantha, Santhanam MY RATING - 8/10 Reflections It's Gautam Menon film and ever since Vinnaithandi Varuvaya, I have idolized him. However this time he teams up with a legend to create a musical extravaganza... Maestro Ilayaraja. Now what needs to seen is... do these songs really live upto the hype? Kaatrai Konjam is a straight lift from where tamil songs left in the late 80s when Rahman came into the mainstream scenario. Pretty above average rendering. LYRICS Kaatrai Konjam nirkka sonnen poopparithu korkka sonnen odi vandhu unnai sandhikka Ask the breeze to stop for a while Pluck those flowers and weave them into a garland... Methai ondru thaikka sonnen megam alli vaikka sonnen konnai moodi unnai sindhikka suttru boomi nirka sonnen unnai thaedi paar

Angels on the moon (Thriving Ivory)

"Angels On The Moon" By Thriving Ivory MY RATING : 10/10 Reflections One of those tracks that makes you ponder over your own life and life in this world. Touching to the deepest core of your heart... Everytime I feel down, I pick out and play this track from the innermost corners of my harddisk... A song that depicts the life of New Yorkers after the 9/11 incident... I wonder why such tracks aren't made in India (even if made are gone unnoticed...)   LYRICS Do you dream that the world will know your name? So tell me your name Do you care about all the little things or anything at all? I wanna feel, all the chemicals inside I wanna feel I wanna sunburn, just to know that I'm alive To know I'm alive Don't tell me if I'm dying 'Cause I don't wanna know If I can't see the sun, maybe I should go Don't wake me 'cause I'm dreaming Of angels on the moon Where everyone you know Never leaves too soon

Day of Rain [Thriving Ivory]

DAY OF RAIN MY RATING : 9.2/10 Thriving Ivory ... I wonder why these guys aren't striking gold with their painfully sinful lyrics and wet music. I just love them... Here's one of my favorites by this band... "Day Of Rain" Late again Guilt free in the middle of the pouring rain Hair's a mess she said Would you mind if I spent the night alone? 3am she's up said It's not you and it never was Packs her things she's gone where? That place I'll never know Somewhere in the middle of the pouring rain I wake up late Sometimes I wish I never woke up at all And I contemplate I guess maybe I'm better off alone I'm gonna leave this place I guess winter got the best of us this year And the sky's a mess I'll run out in the middle of the pouring rain When the day is done and you're not here again When the day is done and you're not here again When the day is done and you're not here again I&

Dhadke Jiya (Aloo Chat OST)

Dhadke Jiya Aloo Chat OST Call - The Band MY RATING - 10/10 Reflections How amazing can a romantic song get? How healing can a song of pain be? How inspiring can the words of depression be? Well... answer to these questions lies in this song... The movie as well as the video reminds me of days in Delhi... Melodious patchwork by Call- The Band... I once again wonder how do these Pakistani rock bands come up with such touching lyrics??? I love this song... and I always wanted to dedicate this song to the one I loved... and now that I have found her... This one's for you... especially the line :  " Ye raasta gum hoga...Ye darr tumhen, hain na Main aaspass hi kaheen hun...Itna yakeen toh, hain na... " And yea... Aftab's simple dressing and Amna's Saffron/Green Ethnic attire reminds me of the two of us... Love this song... and fall in love... and those of you who feel they have lost someone... get up and make an effort... that someone's

Sab Bhula Ke (Call the Band)

Sab Bhula Ke Call the Band MY RATING - 9.5/10 Reflections This is why I love Pakistani rock... almost every song succesfully weaves in the feeling into our minds... unlike it's indian counterparts that mostly fail to deliver... Barring comparisons... let me just praise his track... I have listened to this track while trying to get over someone I had once loved... and truly I always ended up with the perfect closure...   Teri, khamoshiyon mein woh batein hai chupi mujhko choo leti hain woh khala jo youn nikli ho... nami jo aakhon mein thi khuli woh batein sabhi... Lying in your silence… are those mysteries… Touching me… as it passes beside me… The moist tears in the eyes… have unveiled as those mysteries… [chorus] Sab bhula ke phir bhi chala mein duniya ki rasme bhula ke mujhko jo.. himmat mili hi.. mere dilme badhti rahi... Forgetting everything, I am moving… Ignoring all the rituals of the world… Gaining courage within… it increased i

Tum jo mil gaye ho (Haste Zakhm OST)

Tum Jo Mil gaye ho Movie : Haste Zakhma Singer : Mohammed Rafi MY RATING : 9.5/10       REFLECTIONS Haunting! That would be the one word which shall appease my mind the moment this song plays somewhere around me... Rafiji's scintillating silk (read voice) penetrates in the most viscous manner into the heart... creating a strange nostalgia which I cannot explain... probably because I wasn't born at the time this song was made (well... born 16 years later)... It's a very special song and has a enigmatic romance to it... And it has that feel... a cloudy... rainy... long drive kinda feel... Dedicated to someone really special...       LYRICS (English Translation)   Tum jo mil gaye ho, to ye lagataa hain ke jahaan mil gayaa yek bhatake huye raahee ko, kaarawaan mil gayaa That I've got you... I feel that I got the world! These aimless paths have finally found a destiny... Baithho naa door hum se, dekho khafaa naa ho kismat se mil gaye ho, mi

a cute modern song..

hey everyone...i am new to this blog..as, a friend of mine has invited me to write something in it...so here i am translating an old Bengali song...which is definitely a love song...bt the bond of love is between a father and his daughter..father who is very far away from his daughter...maybe he's dead...she misses him a lot..n sings for him in his remembrance ,in Bengal a father lovingly calls his daughter "khuku" of mamoni..even maa coz he sees his mother in his daughter, and daughter calls him baba...this song is truly very touching...so the song goes like this... kaatena shomoye jokhon aar kichhutei bondhur telephone e mon boshey na jaanlaar grill ta te thekai maatha monehoye baba'r moto keyu bole na aaye khuku aayet aaye khuku aaye (the daughter sings... the time just doesnt seem to pass...i dont even feel like talking to my friend on phone am just holding the grill of the window..n it feels as if my father is calling me... come to me my dear daughter c

Aahatein (Ek mein aur ekk tu)

AAHATEIN Ek mein aur ekk tu Music : Amit Trivedi Singers : Karthik, Shilpa Rao Lyrics : Amitabh Bhattacharya MY RATING : 9.7/10 Reflections The kinda song that you can relate with yourself while moving away from your loved one... I can feel myself singing it as I leave the city of Gurgaon next fortnight... leaving behind someone special... someone who has unanimously become part of my life... rather...has become my life itself! This song develops in the form of a mildly progressive lullaby that sounds somewhat like Backstreet boys' SIBERIA during the bridges... Karthik once again has silkily rendered the male voice while the female voice of Shilpa Rao makes you gel with the mood created by the song. I really didn't like Amit Trivedi's music (people praised him for his previous works), but now I am forced to change my mind. At first, I thought the music was given by Pritam or Vishal Shekhar... but hello? Amit Trivedi... really? Wow! Has off! Once again... de

Phoolon Jaisi (Ek Deewana tha)

Phoolon Jaisi (Like Flowers)   Music Director: A R Rahman Lyricist: Javed Akhtar Singer(s): Clinton Cerejo, Kalyani Menon MY RATING : 9.9/10 Reflections  Aah... the song that first hit the center spot on my heart back in 2010... well indeed OMANA PENNE (Darling Girl) was the first track ... rather the only track I had heard until watching the movie... so, much before Hosanna, Mannipaaya, Anbil Avan & Aaromale had made the impact... Omana Penne used to be my favorite...and now here you are...with the hindi version of Omana Penne ... PHOOLON JAISI (Like blossoms) and how good is the song? Well considering the sorrowful fact that benny Dayal isn't singing the hindi version, but Clinton Cerejo has done a wonderful job as the replacement and in fact I guess I have loved this more than the original one. Another song that has a special FEEL to it... and yes... once again... this one's for the most special person in my life... (she knows it's her I am talking

Top Songs of 2011 (Bollywood)

Once again, like last year my list is dominated by Rahman's tracks. Don't get me wrong but those tracks are indeed the best ones. Had all the songs of Ek Deewana tha been released before the year end, the top ten would have all songs of Ek Deewana tha... but for the time being.. let's just be happy with Hosanna. Here's my top songs from 2011 that I loved. Enjoy! Track Album THE BEST 1 Hosanna Ek Deewana tha 2 Tum Ho Rockstar 3 Rabba mei to mar gaya Mausam 4 Abhi Mujh mei kahi Agneepath 5 Kun Faaya Kun Rockstar 6 Saadda Haq Rockstar 7 Ishq Sufiyana The Dirty Picture 8 Jo Bhi mei Rockstar 9 Why this Kolaveri di? 3 10 Ik tu hi tu Mausam THE REST 11 Sadi Gali Tanu Weds Manu 12 Sheher Mein Rockstar 13

Hosanna (Ek Deewana tha)

Hosanna Singers: Leon D’Souza, Suzanne & Blaaze Movie : Ek Deewana Tha Song Writer: Javed Akhtar, Blaaze Composer: AR Rahman MY RATING – 10/10 Reflections First of all... I wasn't really expecting much of an adore from the hindi version of my all time favorite tamil song, but hey... as on many occasions before... my deduction has been negated... yet again! Hosanna... starts off the same way it does in the tamil version... “Had I two hearts..I's d let you break my second heart too” ...this time we hear a new voice altogether...in words that are somehow more catchy and reverberating than the original tamil ones. Leon D'Souza peps out a more silky voice (compared to the haziness of Vijay Prakash). And as the song progresses, you will feel younger and dancing like the deewana (that I am.. gotcha :P)... The rap by Blaaze has been given a total about turn...and sounds more like a sunday mass meets saturday night disco.... which with repeated hearing...will win over yo

Jo Bhi Main - Rockstar OST (Lyrics & translation in English)

Jo Bhi Main [ Rockstar OST] Music Director: A R Rahman Lyricist: Irshad Kamil Singer(s): Mohit Chauhan Director: Imtiaz Ali Producer: Dhillin Mehta Banner: Eros Entertainment, Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis Fakhri, Aditi Rao Hydari MY RATING – 9/10 Reflections The song that gets the movie kickstarted! The progressive masterpiece from the master of all masterpieces...AR Rahman! The humming bareness of Mohit Chauhan's voice has been used splendidly by the Master in this track, rather in each of the dozen tracks rendered by Mohit Chauhan for this Movie's soundtrack. The way the track begins in a confused oscillation depicting the different stages in his lives where Jordan (Ranbir's character in the movie) bumbles over his guitar..striking few chords in and out of his fingertips, to get things right... As appalling as the music are the lyrics of this song (once again.. I would say for all the songs in this album!).... thankfu
