Kaatrai Konjam (Neethaane En Ponvasantham)

Kaatrai Konjam  OST : Neethane En Ponvasantham (You are my Golden spring) Singer : Karthik Music by Ilaiyaraaja Lyrics : Na. Muthukumar Directed : Gautham Vasudev Menon Starring : Jiiva,Samantha, Santhanam MY RATING - 8/10 Reflections It's Gautam Menon film and ever since Vinnaithandi Varuvaya, I have idolized him. However this time he teams up with a legend to create a musical extravaganza... Maestro Ilayaraja. Now what needs to seen is... do these songs really live upto the hype? Kaatrai Konjam is a straight lift from where tamil songs left in the late 80s when Rahman came into the mainstream scenario. Pretty above average rendering. LYRICS Kaatrai Konjam nirkka sonnen poopparithu korkka sonnen odi vandhu unnai sandhikka Ask the breeze to stop for a while Pluck those flowers and weave them into a garland... Methai ondru thaikka sonnen megam alli vaikka sonnen konnai moodi unnai sindhikka suttru boomi nirka sonnen unnai thaedi paar

Challa (Jab tak hai jaan) Lyrics & Meaning

Challa (Ring) Jab tak hai jaan OST Singer : Rabbi Shergill Music : AR Rahman Lyrics : Gulzar MY RATING : 9/10   Reflections What happens when an underrated masterpiece alloys itself with the greatest wonders of the world?  MAGIC!  That is exactly what has happened here... Rabbi Shergil, one of the most underrated Indian singer who had his chances but could only gather a distinctive fan base, not the mass as others from his land (My fingers point at overrated ones like Daler Mehndi, Mika and the likes who can only sing about women & alcohol). Rabbi came into the Indian scene with his Golden 'Bulla ki jaana' back in mid 2000s. However, he disappeared somewhere towards the end of the decade and now suddenly he flashes with a boom in an AR RAHMAN-GULZAR musical that happens to be a YASH CHOPRA - SRK Romance ! How much more could anyone ask for? Well to talk about the track, its a pacy one with Punjabi Sufiana lyrics penned by Gulzar Saahab. The song picks up

Maula (Jism 2)

Maula MY RATING – 10/10 Reflections Three things that set the Bhatt camp aside other Bollywood camps are: Weird erotic plots (lifted from Firangi films)... Alien star cast (including some classy character actors) and then the most important feature... hatke Music!!! Mostly blending folk with Rock and bringing a prototype Alternative version for the Indian Film Industry... They did it in movies like Paap earlier... and now they are doing it again... Maula... a beautiful track... I owe a lot to the person Who first suggested this track... I wouldn't have even peeped into this track hadn't I been suggested... (so Thank You! :P)... The promotional video has been shot so amazingly with Randeep plying on the Cello aesthetically and a gigantic Sunny striding long steps towards our serial killer... aaaah!!! the kinda movies I love... someday even Martin Peter Gonzales (erm... Ek Mithya... :P (http://www.facebook.com/hunting4truth) ) will be having a similar sequel to... till then en

Namosthuthe (I Bow unto You) - Thattathin Marayathu

Namosthuthe (I Bow unto You...) Film : Thattathin Marayath MY RATING : 9.8/10 Reflections I was feeling quite down and dull that day... I wasn't even in the mood to watch another 'LOVE STORY' however I was forced to watch this 'new-gen' mallu Romcom... THATTATHIN MARAYATHU... The first track of the movie... that plays when the male protagonist sees His love interest for the first time... The song is a beautiful rendering of Sanskrit verse arrow-rooted into a rhythm of Fusion. This song is special as this very song changed my mood and perhaps a lot of other things for me... I dedicate this song to the One Who deserves this...The Shwetambara Devi... This One's for the Goddess... LYRICS (ENGLISH TRANSLATION) Shwethaambara Dhare Devi  Shwethaambara Dhare Devi  White has She adorned... The Goddess... White has She adorned... Dhadke Jiya (Aloo Chat OST)

Dhadke Jiya Aloo Chat OST Call - The Band MY RATING - 10/10 Reflections How amazing can a romantic song get? How healing can a song of pain be? How inspiring can the words of depression be? Well... answer to these questions lies in this song... The movie as well as the video reminds me of days in Delhi... Melodious patchwork by Call- The Band... I once again wonder how do these Pakistani rock bands come up with such touching lyrics??? I love this song... and I always wanted to dedicate this song to the one I loved... and now that I have found her... This one's for you... especially the line :  " Ye raasta gum hoga...Ye darr tumhen, hain na Main aaspass hi kaheen hun...Itna yakeen toh, hain na... " And yea... Aftab's simple dressing and Amna's Saffron/Green Ethnic attire reminds me of the two of us... Love this song... and fall in love... and those of you who feel they have lost someone... get up and make an effort... that someone's

Sab Bhula Ke (Call the Band)

Sab Bhula Ke Call the Band MY RATING - 9.5/10 Reflections This is why I love Pakistani rock... almost every song succesfully weaves in the feeling into our minds... unlike it's indian counterparts that mostly fail to deliver... Barring comparisons... let me just praise his track... I have listened to this track while trying to get over someone I had once loved... and truly I always ended up with the perfect closure...   Teri, khamoshiyon mein woh batein hai chupi mujhko choo leti hain woh khala jo youn nikli ho... nami jo aakhon mein thi khuli woh batein sabhi... Lying in your silence… are those mysteries… Touching me… as it passes beside me… The moist tears in the eyes… have unveiled as those mysteries… [chorus] Sab bhula ke phir bhi chala mein duniya ki rasme bhula ke mujhko jo.. himmat mili hi.. mere dilme badhti rahi... Forgetting everything, I am moving… Ignoring all the rituals of the world… Gaining courage within… it increased i

Tum jo mil gaye ho (Haste Zakhm OST)

Tum Jo Mil gaye ho Movie : Haste Zakhma Singer : Mohammed Rafi MY RATING : 9.5/10       REFLECTIONS Haunting! That would be the one word which shall appease my mind the moment this song plays somewhere around me... Rafiji's scintillating silk (read voice) penetrates in the most viscous manner into the heart... creating a strange nostalgia which I cannot explain... probably because I wasn't born at the time this song was made (well... born 16 years later)... It's a very special song and has a enigmatic romance to it... And it has that feel... a cloudy... rainy... long drive kinda feel... Dedicated to someone really special...       LYRICS (English Translation)   Tum jo mil gaye ho, to ye lagataa hain ke jahaan mil gayaa yek bhatake huye raahee ko, kaarawaan mil gayaa That I've got you... I feel that I got the world! These aimless paths have finally found a destiny... Baithho naa door hum se, dekho khafaa naa ho kismat se mil gaye ho, mi

Sharminda Hoon (Ekk Deewana tha OST)

Sharminda Hoon Movie : Ekk Deewana tha Music : AR Rahman Singers : AR Rahman, Madhushree Lyrics : Javed Akhtar MY RATING : 9.9/10 REFLECTIONS This was one of the most awaited song from the Album... The tamil version is one of my all time favorites... but Unlike the tamil version that's titled MANNIPAAYA that means "Forgive me"... the Hindi version was called "Sharminda Hoon" which translates to "I'm embarassed" and I was totally struck with awful feelings... I mean... Why would Rahman settle for such a displeasing title conveying a totally different feel from the original version... But once again... listened to it once... then again... and the first thing that caught my attention were lines by AR Rahman... "Duniya jo chahye kehle...Par tujhko milne se pehle...Khudse bhi na mil saka tha main... Khoya sa tha main uljha sa tha...Ki tujh bin meri na thi koi raahien Meri zindagi tujh bin thi jaise...Oas ki boond...Pa

Vo Dekhney mein (London Paris New York OST)

Voh Dekhnay Mein Film: London Paris New York Singe: Shadab Faridi Music Director: Ali Zafar Lyricist: Ali Zafar MY RATING - 9.7/10 Reflections I must confess, I wouldn't have listened to this song hadn't someone really special been a fan of the guy singing it... Yup... Ali Zafar makes another full-on appearance in this Bollywood romantic comedy with Aditi Rao. And this song happens to be a really good one... and well Kinda in love with it...coz well... it describes "someone" pretty well... and not just Hosanna... there's this song too... and I am in love with it...  Ali Zafar... hawww... there's some kinda jazzy baritone to his voice and has been very well infused with the romantic mood set by the tune... and the lyrics... such light hearted and easy on the listener... yet connecting full-on with your heart... I hope you all like it... esp you guys out there... dedicate it to your girlfriends...(wives bhi chalegi... ;) )  B
