Scared to Succeed??

SCARED TO SUCCEED! Chintan Srivastava Never in the history of mankind has it been so easy to succeed as it is now. All you have to do is do what others are not. But most of us are still not aiming that high, the reason- WE ARE SCARED. Guys it might sound a bit impractical and unconventional, but we indeed are scared of being successful. Because being successful means you are alone, you are leaving the crowd, you are standing ahead of them; you’ll have to lead them. You’ll be responsible for your own actions which many people don’t want to be. You cannot blame anyone if things go wrong, and how many of us are ready to take that risk- “Hardly any”. The kind of society that we live in, we always have that attraction towards our comfort zone, we always buy other people’s fears. We all have big dreams, big aspirations, big ambitions but after we start interacting with people, listening their stories and limitations, we tend to accept them as our own ultimately to limit ourselve

Settling down

Five days and three hours since coming back to my village in kerala, one thing that I have realized is an obvious and basic fact of my nature: Grass is always greener on the other bank. Lol! Talking about banks, i have been going in and out of banks since yesterday owing to account transfers and fund depositions. Even right now, as I am typing, I am breathing the air of another bank in Thrissur. Getting here wasn't a struggle. There is bus service to every nook and corner of the state. Auto rickshaw fares are quite affordable too. But whats not affordable is the way in which people here ply for Rules. There is a protocol for everything and people cry over smallest of defaults. Back in Gurgaon and Delhi, i used to feel that people were so negligent when it came to rules. The fact bothered me so much (especially in the middle of a traffic jam) but now I feel so opposed ironically. I really think that gurgaonites were better off as carefree kinda people for Now I am at a place that is

Kaveri Nadiye (Oh River Cauvery - Keerthichakra OST - lyrics, translation & mp3)

KAVERI NADIYE (Keerthichakra OST) Click here* to Listen Music - Joshuaa Sridhar Singers - Karthik, Asha Menon Lyrics - Gireesh Puthuncherry Raagam - SreerAga MY RATING - 9.995/10 Reflections  Ever wondered what happens on the marriage of Malayalam and Tamil???? I am not talking about two people here! But of Music and Lyrics. We get something like Chennai Senthamizh or this one here KAVERI NADIYE from keerthichakra. It has been one of my favourite tracks ever since I heard it for the first 3 years back when my Haryanvi were busy bullying me for who I was - A SOUTHINDIAN!  :( sadly enough, I had to bear it all, for I had no supporter, infusing the very thought of separatist thinking in my mind for the first time in my mind and heart. What the hell? Assholes of that kind keep on panelling up every day in our lives...best thing is to ignore them! Let me get back to the song.  Kaveri Nadiye is the perfect blend of Carnatic Raga with Contemporary Style of Music, just like it amalgamates T

Lohri

Lohri coincidentally falls on the same day as that of Pongal in Tamil Nadu and a day before Makara Villakku in Kerala. What is more surprising is that all these festivals have a common path of social enticement. Today's Lohri and this is what the fiirst result on google had to show - Reflections from http://www.lohrifestival.org Lohri, is celebrated every year on 13th of January. It is a festival to worship fire. Lohri Festival is celebrated with great pomp in North India. At this time Earth starts moving towards the sun marking the auspicious period of Uttarayan. First Lohri is very important for the newly wed and the new born babies as it marks fertility. At night, people gather around the bonfire and throw til, puffed rice & popcorns into the flames of the bonfire. Prayers are offered to the bonfire seeking abundance & prosperity. People make merry by dancing & singing traditional folk songs. Though Lohri f

Reflections of India --- A new domain!!!

So, finally I am done with my examinations for this semester. I reach back home and that's when My dear old daddy dear tells me that he has registered for a naukri.com and that he was going to pay around 2100 rupees for a membership that runs for 6 months long and straight. Now what has that got to do with my post??? Well...There is a wee bit of a relation... ;) otherwise why would I put you through this??? :P Since Dad had committed a electronic remittance of 2100 bucks, a vague idea that had creeped into my mind 2 weeks ago while going through the custom blog feature provided by BLOGGER, cramped back. The idea of acquiring a custom domain for my blog - REFLECTIONS. And hitherto, I didn't make an about turn..kept on moving..and after storming my head for about 4 hours, I came up with a simple name REFLECTONS OF INDIA, since it's the Indian Culture (both authentic as well as Westernized Modern Indian Culture) that I will be sharing on this little place that now belongs to

Maa Tujhe Salaam (Lyrics and Translation) - Happy New Year...begin with a lil Patriotic flavor

माँ तुझे सलाम / മാ ടുജ്ഹെ സലാം / மா டுஜ்ஹி சலாம் / Maa Tujhe Salaam (Salute to the Motherland) VANDE MATARAM AR Rahman Lyrics by Mehboob MY RATING - 10/10   REFLECTIONS What better way to celebrate the new year than with Rahman's masterpiece that oozes with the feeling of pride and unity. Party animals around the world must be partying hard at this moment..(in different timezones of course :P)...but those of you...well..err...fellow Indians of course...want to share a moment of togetherness???? Just listen to this beautiful Song....HAPPY NEW YEAR....VANDE MATARAM LYRICS ( Translation ) Yahan vahan saara jahan dekh liya Ab tak bhi tere jaisa koi nahin I have seen here, there, everywhere...but found no one like you Main assi nahin, sau din duniya ghooma hai Naahi kaahe tere jaisa koi nahin Not 80, but around the world in 100 days...No..never did I find anyone like you.. Main gaya jahan bhi, bas teri yaad thi Jo mere saath thi mujhko tadpaati rulaati Wherever I'd been...your m

Nodal vs Layer Compositing (Explained)

The following is a slight retooling of an email I sent to a small group as a part of a discusion about the layer-based compositing paradign, as found in After Effects , “vs.” the node-based system used by Shake , Digital Fusion , Nuke , and others. It’s partly a petition to get After Effects to expand its node interface option, and partly an attempt to undertstand these two different ways of visualizing the image assembly process. A filmmaker friend was making the transition from camera crew to screenwriting, and misguidedly asking me for advice along the way. She was having a really tough time with the notion that all great films subscribe to very similar “rules” of screenplay structure. Surely, she thought, this was an outdated notion, and in order to make one’s mark one should dispense with any such formulae. I said to her, “Think of it in terms of photography. Every photograph has a composition, whether it was consciously studied or an accident of a dropped camera. Bu

Black Balloon (Goo Goo Dolls - Lyrics) English

Black Balloon  Goo Goo Dolls DIzzy Up the Girl MY RATING - 9/10 Reflections from Wikipedia Black Balloon is the third single released from the Dizzy Up the Girl album by the Goo Goo Dolls This song, according to the band's frontman Johnny Rzeznik, is about a woman with a heroin addiction and how her lover is desperately trying to save her. He has also said that it is about "seeing someone you love that is so great just screw up so bad." Speculation as to the song's subject has included bassist Robby Takac's ex-wife (who overdosed on heroin). Like many other songs by the Goo Goo Dolls, "Black Balloon" uses an unusual alternate tuning. Several electric guitars used in the introduction and the acoustic rhythm guitar are tuned to an open D-flat fifth chord. The video for the song opens with a woman blowing smoke into a soap bubble (a "black balloon"). The video then changes focus and shows various scenes from a 50s or 60s era swim club while

If I Rise (127 days - OST _ Dido & AR RAHMAN - Lyrics & Song) 2010 Golden Globe Nominee

If I Rise Dido & AR Rahman 127 Hours OST Music : AR Rahman MY RATING - 10/10 Reflections If I Rise? What shall I do? Ever thought about that, Mr. Rahman??? in fact, have ever given it a thought that how much you already risen??? NO??? Hehe! he just gets better and better....there's PEAK for him...although his latest golden globe nominated track IF I RISE is an original soundtrack scored for Danny Boyle's latest film 127 HOURS...which is based on the story of a mountaineer. This track is perhaps a soul touching track! Rahman has touched almost everything available in the Himalayas for this song...you can in fact feel the fresh mountain breeze hitting you gently on your face as the smell of freshness touches your mind and relishes your spirit within! Deep within! Dido gives the balming effect! Slicing her holistic accent to curl up the final words of every stanza in the way of the elves! And when you start thinking that the song only has the repetitive hoking sou

Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se (Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se OST) HINDI

Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se (We play with our lives) Movie : Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey Singer: Suresh Wadkar Music Director: Sohail Sen Lyricist: Javed Akhtar MY RATING - 9/10 Reflections This track seems to be inspired from AR Rahman's anthems. Somewhere you will find a Vande Mataram or a Baar Baar Haan...a very nice attempt by Sohail Sen. As I had praised him for his last work WHATS YOUR RASHEE....this time again he gives some lovely tracks that vibrate from average to good... This track is supposed to give you goosebumps and warm up the blood through your veins...and wellto some extent it does.....A GOOD TRACK. LYRICS abb hamako roke na toke koyi hamako badhaane hai aage kadam aag rahegi ya bhukhe koyi pidha uthaate hai aaj yeh hum yeh naam paayenge paaye saja isaki nahi hamako koyi bhi parwaah karna hai kya hame yeh hai pata hamane apane dil me jo socha hai woh toh hoga khele hum jee jaan se - (8) nyay hame apani dhaarti pe laana hai anyaay koyi jaise bhi woh mitaa

He brings this album....and this song...Engeyum Kadhal..the title track...amazing collection of a soft 90s American feeling! Love this song!  Heyyyyhhh.... Jhootha Hi Sahi - Movie Review

pollcode.com free polls Rate this movie (out of 5) 1 2 3 4 5    There are somethings that really bother me... and one of those things is when unworthy things get all the undeserving praise while deserving one's go unnoticed....or even worse..are spit upon... Such is this movie....Jhootha Hi Sahi This is the second movie by Director Abbas Tyrewala, who's last tryst with Bollywood was Imran Khan - GENELIA (brainless) starrer Jaane Tu ya jaane na...which was quite undeserving..yet a huge blockbuster...among the Indian youth...However the second movie has failed to register any good impression in the minds of the same youth. The movie is a light romantic comedy, and picks up slowly with John attending an Indian Suicide hotline...coz of a little mistake on the side of the NGO or whatever run by Nandana Sen. That's how he has an encounter on phone with Mishka played brilliantly by Pakhi! John and Mishka become phone friends...although she still doesn't know anyt
