Khoya Khoya Chaand (Kaala Bazaar - 1960)

खोया खोया चाँद (A bemused moon!) Kala Bazaar (1960) Music - Shri SD Burman Singer - Mohd Rafiji My Rating - 9.5/10 Reflections Ahh! A Classic! An unforgettable piece of melody that  has been haunting me since the time of my birth...Maybe I used to jingle to its tune in my previous birth, coz as u can see, this song was released way back in 1960, A time when my Dear Daddy was just 5! Mohammad Rafi saab has lent his voice for this song and that makes it even more enchanting. Listen to it when you are out on a moonlit night,,,all alone,,,sitting on the terrace of your apartment....Just stare at the moon...and sing...with your Ipod...."Khoya Khoya Chaand Khula Aasmaan...." Khoya Khoya Chaand (A bemused Moon) O ho ho ho, khoya khoya chaand, khula aasmaan (A bemused moon and an open sky) Aankhon mein saari raat jaayegi (I shall be waking for they wont let me close my eyes ) Tumko bhi kaise neend aayegi (How can you sleep either?) Oh oh, khoya khoya chaand, khul

The real name of India - BhArat

"The name India (pronounced /ˈɪndiə/) is derived from Indus, which is derived from the Old Persian word Hindu, from Sanskrit Sindhu, the historic local appellation for the Indus (Sindhu) River. The ancient Greeks referred to the Indians as Indoi (Ινδοί), the people of the Indus." "The Constitution of India and common usage in various Indian languages also recognise Bharat (pronounced [bʱaːrət]) as an official name of equal status. The name Bharat is derived from the name of the legendary king Bharata in Hindu Mythology." Bhaarat comprises of three syllables BhA+ Ra + Tha, where BhA means Oorja or Exlosive Illumination, Ra means to be resided and Tha means devoted to its service. Another derivation reveals ""Bha" means Light and Knowledge, and "rata" means “Devoted”. Bharat means "devoted to light as against darkness". The name "Bharat" was symbolic in nature revealing the fact that the whole country was highly enl

Chehre Jo Dekhe Hai (What's Your Rashee?)

चेहरे जो देखे हैं (The Faces I have seen) Sohail Sen My Rating - 9.4/10 Reflections Another great track from the 4 hour long movie. Infact I am falling in love with this movie after listening to its songs. Yes I know, I had dismissed the movie as utter non-sense, but don't know, now after almost a week after watching the first day first show, I am wanting to watch it again! This track has the element of all the tracks of the movie. Actually its the movie summarised in a single track. Arey Yaar! you cud have just put this track in the movie.....instead of going for the 4 hour stretch! Lyrics (Translation) Chehre jo dekhe hain (the Faces I have seen) Saare he pyaare hain (All of em are beautiful) Hum kya bataaein ke (what shall I say) Dil kis pe haare hain (On whom the heart is stuck upon) Kabhi iska armaan hai (Sometimes I wish for her) Kabhi uska sapna hai (SometimesI dream of the other) Lagta hai apne toh Gardish mein taare hain (Think all the stars are under m

Cricket brings a billion hearts together after 60 years!

A Billion Indians supported and prayed for Pakistan tonight,,,though the prayers went unheard,,,atleast Cricket brought us closer for a day atleast! I am sure that every Indian watching the Pakistan v/s Australia match had his heart impounded each time the ball hit an australian's bat during the death overs. The way Pakistan played till the last ball was truly touching and inspiring, Hats off to Younus and his team for putting such a fighting effort for a match that hardly mattered to them as they had already made it to the semis. Infact, I almost fell on my feet when Asif bowled that edge of a seat ball and picked up white's wicket. Thats when the ray of rope started reeling in once again coz Australia was pretty much in the driver's seat till that moment. And then those two continuous maiden overs by Rana Naved! Pakistan didnt let Punter's wolves breathe for even a second till the last ball was bowled. A Great game but at the end of which, all I was left with is u

How can India make it to the semis?

Today is the big match, infact two big matches that decide the fate of The Indian Side at the Champions Trophy. What exactly is the equation for India then? If both Pakistan and India bat first, the equation is pretty simple as mentioned below: If Pakistan beats Australia by 1 run, India will need to beat West Indies by 104 runs  If Pakistan beats Australia by 20 runs, India will need to beat West Indies by 85 runs  If Pakistan beats Australia by 50 runs, India will need to beat West Indies by 55 runs  If Pakistan beats Australia by100 runs, India will need to beat West Indies by 5 runs If both Pakistan and India bat second. In such a scenario, India's chase will depend upon the number of overs Pakistan takes to reach the target against Australia. While it is impossible to tell in how many overs India will have to reach the target (because of various permutations and combinations), we can give you an approximate figure. If Pakistan beats Australia with one ove
