Cricket brings a billion hearts together after 60 years!

A Billion Indians supported and prayed for Pakistan tonight,,,though the prayers went unheard,,,atleast Cricket brought us closer for a day atleast! I am sure that every Indian watching the Pakistan v/s Australia match had his heart impounded each time the ball hit an australian's bat during the death overs. The way Pakistan played till the last ball was truly touching and inspiring, Hats off to Younus and his team for putting such a fighting effort for a match that hardly mattered to them as they had already made it to the semis. Infact, I almost fell on my feet when Asif bowled that edge of a seat ball and picked up white's wicket. Thats when the ray of rope started reeling in once again coz Australia was pretty much in the driver's seat till that moment. And then those two continuous maiden overs by Rana Naved! Pakistan didnt let Punter's wolves breathe for even a second till the last ball was bowled. A Great game but at the end of which, all I was left with is u

How can India make it to the semis?

Today is the big match, infact two big matches that decide the fate of The Indian Side at the Champions Trophy. What exactly is the equation for India then? If both Pakistan and India bat first, the equation is pretty simple as mentioned below: If Pakistan beats Australia by 1 run, India will need to beat West Indies by 104 runs  If Pakistan beats Australia by 20 runs, India will need to beat West Indies by 85 runs  If Pakistan beats Australia by 50 runs, India will need to beat West Indies by 55 runs  If Pakistan beats Australia by100 runs, India will need to beat West Indies by 5 runs If both Pakistan and India bat second. In such a scenario, India's chase will depend upon the number of overs Pakistan takes to reach the target against Australia. While it is impossible to tell in how many overs India will have to reach the target (because of various permutations and combinations), we can give you an approximate figure. If Pakistan beats Australia with one ove

Bikhri Bikhri si hai Zulfein Kyun? (What's Your Rashee?)

बिखरी बिखरी सी है जुल्फें क्यूँ ? (Why thy hair is so swithered?) Singers - Sohail Sen , Dominc D'Cruz My Rating - 9/10 Reflections A very touching track from the movie- What's Your Rashee?. Actually, the track is played when the Cancerian girl, Hansa, played by Priyanka Chopra reveals to Yogesh (Harman) about her past, the lover who betrayed her. The courage and honesty with which she reveals the shocking Truth about her virginity is the scene. This sincerity is the soul of the song. The song talks about Hope of a new day, a day when the withered flower shall bloom again! A very soulful melody! Infact looks even better during the movie, when the frame actually freezes on Priyanka's character with her hair mildly wavering with the breeze and Harman glances at her in slow motion. Lyrics (Translation) Bikhari Bikhari Si Julfein Hain Kyun (Why are your hair withered and tithered?) Khoyi Khoyi Si Aankhein Hain Kyun (Why are your eyes so lost?) Ghum Ka Yeh Pal

South Africa has been cut and is bleeding while India is hanging on the razor's edge!

South Africa has once again proved that the team is jinxed! As usual, it couldn't clear prelims of the ICC event taking place at its own home turf. Remember World Cup 2003? Yep! History has repeated itself, rather the South Africans have repeated History. The Hosts lost to Lankans in their first game, though they managed to defeat the kiwis in the second game but couldn't really pull it off in their last game against England. Infact they fell short of 12 odd runs from putting up a compatible net runrate! Now, the hosts become the second team to exit from the 8-nation tournament, after the windies. Coming to the Indian story, India hs once again placed itself in jeopardy! It lost its first game against Pakistan, while its second game was washed away by rain. India now has 1 point in its kitty, while Australia have 3. Pakistan has solidified its position already by winning 2 of 2 games! Now if Pakistan beats Australia by atleast a 100 runs and India is able to supress Windies by

Don't say Alvida (Main aur Mrs.Khanna)

Don't say Alvida (Don't say Goodbye) Movie Name : Main Aur Mrs Khanna Cast : Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Govinda, Sohail Khan Music Director : Sajid-Wajid Director : Prem Soni My rating - 9.3/10 A Fresh track from composer duo Sajid-Wajid. The duo are now linked with every movie that Salman does. however, with this track they have brought back an age-old soft Indian romantic ballet kinda songs! When you hear this song, you don't get to hear the usual computer synthesized beats of kick and snare but of Desi Membrane instruments (tabla, dhol), some simple wind and string instruments and beautifully prepared western chorus! And whats the best thing about the song, The song clicks! Gives a feeling of Love that most of the modern Hindi track lack! There is a saying - SIMPLICITY has the greatest CAPACITY (Ok! I just made that up :-P ). Well, this track is witness to that. Simple yet the most beautiful love ballet of this year so far! And there is one more notable thing about the

Is Jahaan Mein (TUM MILEY)

Is Jahaan Mein (In this World) Singer - Mohit Chauhan Music - Pritam My Rating - 8.1/10 A young and peppy number by Mohit Chauhan. Pritam's music once again sounds too INSPIRED!!!! This time from tracks by John Mayer, with those trademark 'Ooooooh' chants. But does it matter? Not at all, the music is youthful and can be danced to joyfully. If you can't dance like me, you can just sing it while you are walking down an alley! A must listen, and this track is to stay for a while, like the previous Pritam-Mohit tracks (Tumse Hi and Dooriyan) Lyrics (translation) Is Jahaan Mein (In this World) Is jahaan mein tu meri khatir hai (You are here in this world for my sake) lag raha hai ab kyun aise (why do I feel like this now?) ek kami hai tere jeene mein (there is something missing in your life) ye khayal aaya hai kaise (how has this come to my mind?) tu jo chale chalun (When you shall walk, so shall I) tu jo ruke rukun (When you will stop, so will I) ye ho raha hai kyun (Why is

Celebrating Vijayadashami (Dusshera)

NamaskAra Finally, after 2 days of exile from the world of words, I am back again typing on my keyboard, writing this little article.Did someone ask- Exile ? Well, kinda. Its a part of the Navratri Vrata (Fast) when on the eighth day (DurgAshtami) all books belonging to a student are owed to Goddess Saraswati and placed as a collective Puja entity. Books signify the most important source of knowledge for a student (BrahmachAri), and owing it to the Devi herself is a way to pay tribute to Goddess of VidyA (Knowledge) and thus, seek her blessings. And on the tenth day, that is, on the Day of Vijayadashami, A ritual called VidyArambham is performed. An auspicious ceremony marked with Pooja of Hari, Ganapathy, Goddess Saraswati and the Kuladevata (Lord of the Clan). (My Books placed before images and idols of Our Gods in the morning) VidyArambham is derived from the words VidyA and Aarambham that mean the Commencement of Knowledge. The mantra - Aum HarisrI Ganapathaye namahA avighna
