Hunting for the truth...

Hey folks! Ek Mithya - a short film I came up with the concept of Ek mithya after watching a hollywood movie called 'THE ECHO' which was itself a remake of an Asian movie. At that time (that was in February 2011), I had titled it A DELUSIONAL, but sadly it kept on falling prey to delays... And then finally one depressing night on the terrace of my old family house in Kerala, I sat down to make the screenplay... for A DELUSIONAL. Completing it within a week, I was quite excited to start the shoot... once I was back in Delhi for my exams. The title changed to EKK MITHYA... EKK driving inspiration from two of the movies that were releasing at that time: EKK DEEWANA THA and EK MEIN AUR EKK TU... Slowly and momentously I began my shoot... after adding few more twist and turns... changing the plot once again... roping in the love of my life... and then I changed my track... minor distractions... street dogs attacking me... and sudden return to Kerala, thereby cance

Tum jo mil gaye ho (Haste Zakhm OST)

Tum Jo Mil gaye ho Movie : Haste Zakhma Singer : Mohammed Rafi MY RATING : 9.5/10       REFLECTIONS Haunting! That would be the one word which shall appease my mind the moment this song plays somewhere around me... Rafiji's scintillating silk (read voice) penetrates in the most viscous manner into the heart... creating a strange nostalgia which I cannot explain... probably because I wasn't born at the time this song was made (well... born 16 years later)... It's a very special song and has a enigmatic romance to it... And it has that feel... a cloudy... rainy... long drive kinda feel... Dedicated to someone really special...       LYRICS (English Translation)   Tum jo mil gaye ho, to ye lagataa hain ke jahaan mil gayaa yek bhatake huye raahee ko, kaarawaan mil gayaa That I've got you... I feel that I got the world! These aimless paths have finally found a destiny... Baithho naa door hum se, dekho khafaa naa ho kismat se mil gaye ho, mi

Love Anthem (STR)

LOVE ANTHEM Singer : Simbu (STR) MY RATING : 10/10 Reflections I have kinda liked this concept... must say unique in it's way... the word love repeated in over a dozen different languages creating a song of its own... and pumping those synonyms is an powerful cardio Tamil dhol background... Simbu you rock! I found this one much better than Kolaveri di... however sadly... I believe Kolaveri set a cult that has a much larger and rather uncomparable fan following... And a music video that has been created with equal passion... Simbu looks cute as always... a bratty rockstar at some... dashuri dashuri dashuri dashuri salang salang leifde leifde las'ka las'ka armastus armastus rakkaus rakkaus ag'api ag'api lyubov lyubov all we need is love .. aai .. amour .. amour all we need is love .. aai .. amour .. amour all we need is love .. aai .. amour .. amour all we need is love .. aai .. amour .. a

Sharminda Hoon (Ekk Deewana tha OST)

Sharminda Hoon Movie : Ekk Deewana tha Music : AR Rahman Singers : AR Rahman, Madhushree Lyrics : Javed Akhtar MY RATING : 9.9/10 REFLECTIONS This was one of the most awaited song from the Album... The tamil version is one of my all time favorites... but Unlike the tamil version that's titled MANNIPAAYA that means "Forgive me"... the Hindi version was called "Sharminda Hoon" which translates to "I'm embarassed" and I was totally struck with awful feelings... I mean... Why would Rahman settle for such a displeasing title conveying a totally different feel from the original version... But once again... listened to it once... then again... and the first thing that caught my attention were lines by AR Rahman... "Duniya jo chahye kehle...Par tujhko milne se pehle...Khudse bhi na mil saka tha main... Khoya sa tha main uljha sa tha...Ki tujh bin meri na thi koi raahien Meri zindagi tujh bin thi jaise...Oas ki boond...Pa

Vo Dekhney mein (London Paris New York OST)

Voh Dekhnay Mein Film: London Paris New York Singe: Shadab Faridi Music Director: Ali Zafar Lyricist: Ali Zafar MY RATING - 9.7/10 Reflections I must confess, I wouldn't have listened to this song hadn't someone really special been a fan of the guy singing it... Yup... Ali Zafar makes another full-on appearance in this Bollywood romantic comedy with Aditi Rao. And this song happens to be a really good one... and well Kinda in love with it...coz well... it describes "someone" pretty well... and not just Hosanna... there's this song too... and I am in love with it...  Ali Zafar... hawww... there's some kinda jazzy baritone to his voice and has been very well infused with the romantic mood set by the tune... and the lyrics... such light hearted and easy on the listener... yet connecting full-on with your heart... I hope you all like it... esp you guys out there... dedicate it to your girlfriends...(wives bhi chalegi... ;) )  B

Fall in Love (Casanovva OST)

Omanichumma ( Fall in Love) Film : Casanovva Singers : Karthik, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Najeem Arshad, Roopa, Kalyani, Gopi Sundar Music : Gopi Sundar Lyrics : Gireesh Puthuncherri MY RATING : 9.6/10 Reflections However I really wasn't longing to see this movie at all... despite being a fan of the kinda movies Roshan Andrews makes... however the title of the movie (Casanovva) was so repelling with Mohanlal playing the protagonist, I really had thi yucky feeling for this movie, despite being touted as the most expensive film made in Malayalam till date! I had seen posters hanging outside packed movie houses across Kochi and Trichur where COME, FALL IN LOVE had been used as the tag line for the movie foregrounding a bulky tummied Mohanlal doing an SRK stand along with Lakshmi Rai & Shriya Saran... but it was not until a couple of days ago when I accidentally came across this particular soundtrack... FALL IN LOVE (Omanichumma)... and the thumping background of this song

Agneepath - Movie Review

Agneepath Director : Karan Malhotra Cast : Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Om Puri, Zareena Wahab Music : Ajay Atul MY RATING : 6.7/10 REFLECTIONS Filled with over the top expectations and a promise to fulfil, had I set out on a sunny thursday afternoon to watch the much awaited Karan Johar's Agneepath in the cultural capital of Kerala- Thrissur. After walking around the the Temple round, I finally reached Jose talkies where they were playing Agneepath and damn them to hell... there was crowd just enough to pull off a HOUSEFUL for the first day matinee, which is a big deal for any Hindi movie in Kerala! Okay, let's talk about the film now, since I haven't witnessed the original Agneepath, I won't be comparing the two (which of course is the greatest justice I would be doing to both the films). The typical story of son seeking out revenge from his father's killer is the entire story in a nutshell, but what
