This Diwali is gonna glow hotter than ever before with 2 big budget masala flicks and one Sweet Romantic movie lined up for release on the 16th!
The biggest bet will be BLUE starring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan while Akki's lucky doll Katrina Kaif makes a cameo. The tracks by AR Rehman are already chartbusters. The film is an action thriller, all we wait are how much of a thrill can it pull?
The second big release will be Rohit Shetty's All The Best starring Ajay Devgun, Sanjay Dutt (again!), Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse (Of Fashion fame). Its an out and out comedy, just like the previous Rohit-Ajay movies (viz. Golmaal, Sunday and Golmaal Returns). It enjoys an advantage over Blue that it is a family entertainer and will most likely pass with a 'U' certificate while Blue will get an A for its bikini babes atleast... :P....
The third Hindi flick is Main aur Mrs.Khanna, a romantic comedy involving the man of the moment, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Sohail Khan. Looks like a direct life from a few American Romantic Comedies, but still I guess it will be a feel good movie and worth a watch.
Hey hey hey! This is not all, these are hardly Hindi films....There are more to come,,,Malayalam and Tamil!
First let me talk about Malayalam release for Diwali - PAZHASSI RAJA (പഴശ്ശി രാജ).
Mammootty dons the pivotal role as Pazhassi Raja, who fought against the British. Another main character is that of Pazhassi Raja’s Commander in Chief, Edachena Kunkan is played by our Supreme star Sarath Kumar.
The Tamil industry has two of its big Superstars ready for the word go! Suriya and Vijay!
Suriya who has just won the filmfare award for best actor for Vaaranam Ayiram is already flying high with the grand Success of Ayan and his Hindi project with RGV. All this makes him the safer bet. His film Aadhavan is an out and out MASALA flick that contains all the elements required to make it perfect for anyone- Action, comedy, romance, suspense and twist in the tale climax! The music by Harris Jayaraj is already making waves. Surya is a contract killer. As per the orders of his boss he goes to Saroja Devi’s house to murder but changes his mind because of the love and affection he gets in the family.
But because of this the villain turns as his enemy. One half of this film has been shot in South Africa. Six pack hero Surya is playing a 10 year old for a flash back portion. Nayanthara is there for the scintillating portion.
While Vijay is giving us VETTAIKAARAN. Vijay is said to have the role of a normal boy from a village who goes to the city to bring injustice towards the evil lurking around. Vijay will also don the role of the comedian with some other actors, and Babu Sivan himself claims that it will have some of the most funniest moments this year. All stunt sequences had been recorded until they were perfect, and all the tunes were composed according to the situations and atmosphere by Vijay Antony (which has become a great success ever since the album was officially released). The film will definitely have a new style with plenty of comedy, romance and realistic stunts as well as over-the-top action to create one of the most enjoyable mass masala hit film this year, claims the confident director.
To be frank I am more looking forward to the Vijay movie coz I just love his glamour! Too Smart! Suriya is only second to him.
Now, the thing to decide is which movie to watch, rather how many movies to watch? God! The Tamil and Malayalam flicks will only be released in the PVRs in Delhi and Gurgaon, so will have to pay 175 bucks for each show! thats gross! But to be frank, I am looking forward to Pazhassi raaja, coz I think it will be classy!
I will arrange the movies in this order -->
