Reflections
The Maestro Ilayaraja is perhaps now my favourite musician! Off late, I have been listening to some of his brilliant works of yesteryears and think I might displace AR Rehman to no.2 in the list of my Favourite Musicians!
Wow! A Hindi version of his own retro chartbuster called THUMBI VAA from the Malayalam film OLANGAL that was released in 1982 (starring AMOL PALEKAR). My mother used to sing that song to make me go to sleep! Yea! I can remember that, and all that came back to me yesterday when I listened to this track for the first time!
Wow! what a rendering, its even better than the original with an added JAZZY flavour fervouring the Carnatic mood of the song. Its been sung by the maestro's daughter Bhavatharani. Great song! Touching and yea the word coming from my heart is - NOSTALGIC !
