The trial run for the Gurgaon- Delhi metro section will start from HUDA City Center Metro Station of sector 29 Gurgaon on January 29 .
Haryana Chief Minister, Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Union Minister for Urban Development Mr.S Jaipal Reddy will be the Chief Guests on the occasion.
Stating this today, an official spokesman said that the trial run of Metro would be flagged off by the Haryana Chief Minister and the Union Urban Development Minister at 12.00 noon on Friday. He said that the programme would be graced by Union Minister of State for Urban Development Mr Saugata Ray, Minister of State for Agriculture and Cooperation of Haryana Mr Sukhbir Kataria, Local MP Rao Inderjeet Singh, MLA Badshapur Rao Dharampal, Chairman of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Secretary to Union Urban Development Minister Mr.Ramachandran, Managing Director of DMRC Mr. E. Sreedharan. In addition, the Haryana Chief Secretary Smt Urvashi Gulati, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Mr.D S Dhesi would also be present in the function.
He said that the trial runs on this section would cover a distance of approximately 11 Kilometers covering the HUDA City Center Metro Station, IFFCO Chowk Metro station, MG Road Metro Station, Sikandarpur Metro Station, Guru Dronacharya Metro Station, Arjangarh Metro station, Ghitorni and Sultanpur Metro Station. The work on the 7.05 KM long Gurgaon- Delhi Metro rail section costing Rs 763 Crore started in December 2006 and it had been completed in a period of three years. The formal opening of Metro rail from Gurgaon to Kutub Minar was expected in coming May and it would be extended upto Central secretariat by June this year.
