Aman Ki Asha (Reflection and Translation in English)

अमन की आशा (A wish for peaceful/Secure Nation)
Shankar Mahadevan, Rahet Fateh Ali Khan
Gulzar

"The two leading media houses of India and Pakistan - The Times of India and the Jang Group - have come together to develop a stronger Track 2 in the diplomatic and cultural relations between India and Pakistan. "Aman ki Asha: Destination Peace" looks beyond the confines of a 62-year-old political boundary to the primal bonds that tie together the two peoples."
This is what I got from The Times Of India's online section on Aman ki Asha...........
Now, recently they released the first single from the album.....titled Aman Ki Asha........अमन की आशा....penned down by the legend himself- GULZAR SAAB..........and vocals rendered by Our very Shankar Mahadevan and Rahet Fateh Ali Khan (from across the border....:)....)
The track opens up on the peaceful notations of a piano...or is it a jaltarang?..sorry...I really don't know....but whatever it is......moves you right from the word go! And as the track progresses.....the two singers stimulate you to move your hearts......in a direction pointed by the beak of the flying white pigeon (err I mean....THE SYMBOL OF PEACE).
The track hardly lasts for 2 minutes...and at the end....you really crave for more....but unfortunately....all great things come in small packages....
Its an awesome song.....Rahet strains melodiously in the Sufi/Hindustani style while Shankarji...simply ends his notes in a more Carnatic manner....making this track simply.....UNMISSABLE (and yes that's a word...I consulted a dictionary... :P...)

Lyrics (Translation)

Dikhayi dete hain duur tak ab bhi saaye koi
Still shadows can be seen from this distance, this time
Magar bulaane se waqt lautey na aaye koi
But an era bygone, cannot be harked back in time
Chalo na phir se bichhayein dariyaan bajayein dholak
O! Let us spread those carpets and beat those drums again
Lagake mehendi sureeley tappe sunayein koi
Let's adorn this land with Henna(Mehendi) and listen to her songs
Patang udayein chhatton pe chadh ke muhalley waaley
As the locals fly kites from their terrace
Falak to saanjha hai us mein penche ladayein koi
The eyes are just strings that are destined to get locked with each other
Utho kabaddi kabbadi khelenge sahardon par
Wake Up!...OPEN YOUR EYES...lets play across the borders
Jo aye abke to laut kar phir na jaye koi
And this time, we shall not let you go back
Nazar mein rehtey ho jab tum nazar nahin aatey
You will be in eyes..when I can't see you
Yeh sur milaatey hain jab tum idhar nahin aatey
These songs are the bridge that connects when you don't come here

I love the song. Have heard it over a 100 times. I feel really short changed because the lyrics are so powerful and the song only goes for 2 minutes. It would have been great if Gulzarji weaved his poetry magic to add a few related verses.

Krishna Nee Begane Baaro - Kannada Lyrics & Translation

Unveiling the Depths of "Krishna Nee Begane Baaro" Krishna Nee Begane Baaro  (Oh Krishna, Please Come) transcends the realm of a simple  Kannada devotional song . Composed by the revered saint-poet  Vyasatirtha , it offers a powerful expression of devotion and yearning for the divine presence of Lord Krishna. A Melody Steeped in Tradition: The essence of  Krishna Nee Begane Baaro  lies in its music. The melody flows serenely in  Raga Yamunakalyani , its notes reminiscent of the gentle murmur of the Yamuna River. The rhythmic pattern,  Chapu , adds a structured elegance, providing the perfect foundation for the heartfelt lyrics. Vyasatirtha, a prominent figure in the  Dvaita school of Madhvacharya philosophy , infused the song with his profound understanding of the divine. A Source of Solace: Krishna Nee Begane Baaro  resonates far beyond its cultural significance. The song's calming melody offers a sense of peace and comfort during challenging times. Many listeners, mysel

Mere Bina (Lyrics, English Translation)

मेरे बिना (Mere Bina) CROOK OST Music - Pritam Singer - Nikhil D'Souza Lyrics - Kumaar MY RATING - 9/10 Reflections A very romantic western number by new comer Nikhil D'Souza. Pritam has crooned Pop hits by Darius and Enrqiue alike to create a magical ballad that hooks you to its smoothness the moment the song starts. Nikhil sounds like Atif at times, but nevertheless is a promsing find!   Lyrics (English Translation) Mere Bina Rehne laga hun Teri hawaon me Behne laga hun I have started living without you... I have started floating in the breeze that you are jaane main kaise tera hua hu mujhe to lagta hai main shayad tere dil ki dua hu Haan Tujhko jo paaya ahan To jeena aaya Ab ye lamha theher jaye tham jaye bas jaye hum Dono ke darmiyaaaaan I don't know how I have become yours I think I am the boon from your heart Yea! Now that I found you...I have learnt to live Now this moment may stop here at this very moment when the two of us are together
