Indian Overseas Bank has announced recruitment of 1100 clerks, that will close on March 25, 2011.We have compiled the answers for some of your frequently asked questions regarding the eligibility of these IOB jobs.Hope this helps all those having the same doubts.

Q: What are the educational conditions to apply for this IOB clerk recruitment 2011?
A: Must have secured atleast 65% marks in std.XII (10+2)/ Intermediate or equivalent exam OR completed degree with 50% marks from a recognized university OR 60% marks in diploma in banking – any of the above as on 1.1.2011

Q: Where will I be posted if im appointed?
A: As per IOB recruitment notice – Selected candidates would have to serve for a minimum of 5 years in rural branches, at the state applied for.After this period, you may be transferred or posted in other branches (depends on the bank)

Q: Can I apply for clerk post in 2 states?
A: No.You can submit the online application only for 1 state & must sit for exam in a centre located at that chosen state.

Q: Should I know the language of the state?
A: Knowledge of the (applying) state`s official language is necessary.For example – those applying for vacancies in Kerala must know to read/ write/ speak Malayalam. Applicants must also have fluency in english.

Q: I have made few mistakes while applying.Can I change them?
A: It is necessary to be careful while filling the online application form.Even then, if you enter some details wrongly & want to change it, you can modify them till March 27 – after entering your reg.no,date of birth & password.

Q: Should I send the application by post?
A: The printout of the submitted online application is for your reference & should not be sent to the bank by post or courier.
 
Q: I have applied.When will I receive call letters?
A: Since the written test for IOB clerk recruitment falls on 29.5.2011, eligible candidates would receive call letters by post before May 23.Call letters can also be downloaded at their website between May 24 – 28th.
