Vedic Reflections - Shri VishnusahasranAmam (Stanza 59) The Lord is the symbol of firmness, strength and kindness. He stands tall like a tree, He is untouched by winds like a tree, He is firm like a tree, He is giving prāņa to all beings just like a tree gives oxygen to living beings, He gives shelter to His devotees like a tree giving shelter to squirrels and birds. He is that ultimate source of energy Who has the power to attract everything towards itself. The scientific explanation is interesting to note. Drain and keep aside to cool. In the same oil, fry the sliced onion till they are almost crisp. Drain and keep aside. Mash the boiled potato.  When cooled, mash the fried red chillies, onion and salt.  Now, mix this thoroughly with the mashed potato. Serve with boiled rice and dal.

Vedic Reflections - Shri VishnusahasranAmam (Stanza 57) This shloka put me in a great confusion, especially the second name – kapilāchāryah . One of the books that I was referring to had combined it with the first name ( maharşih ) while another one had explained the name as two different names that is, kapila and ācharya . Finally I decided to give my own touch. Though I am not very much satisfied with the interpretation but still it’s better than nothing.
